Part one paragaph:
The person that I interviewed is Sherman Dolman. He is a man who grew up in the Great Depression and when he was interviewed, he was about 75 years old. He lived in Germany until he was six years old and and then he moved to nebraska and lived a great life.Sherman lived in a 16 foot long house and he was an only child, one day he was with friends and experienced his first Indian it was a very scarry sight he said. Sherman had learned the trade of blacksmithing from his father and he would strike for three men. SHerman has also seen the first railroad come through Nebraska, the train was full of cattle and wild game, Sherman got most of his food from animals that would fall off the train and die( mostly chickens). Then in 1910, he came to Lincoln where he started painting.
"The worst depression, was in the late seventies. Far worse than the present. We lived on sorgum and corn-meal. Clothes sent from the east and we went barefooted most of the time. Grasshoppers caused this great depression. We used to see slough hay about six feet tall and is something we dont see today.

Kathleen's part one paragraph:
The person I interviewed was Jacob Stein. Stein is a white male and is about fifty years old. He lives in the heart of New York City during the Great Depression. Jacob was interviewed by a person named B. Hathaway. The interview took place in Union Square, NY. The interview takes place in Jacob Stein's apartment on December 5, 1938. Stein talks about how he worked for the WPA for a few years before he lost his job. He now claims he has no job and calls himself a bum and only has the money he saved from his old job. Jacob has a strong history with a little square between Fourteenth Street and Broadway. He witnessed and was even involved in riots, brawls, and multiple fist fights. Many people would gather at this square everyday during the Great depression looking for food. money or any sort of relief. People in New England were not suffering as much as the people in the west because where Stein lived, cities and industries were bigger and more developed.
